Direct Investments:


• In the period 2010 – 2013 Solar Investment Group team has directly acquired and is operating 48MW of Solar Projects taking advantage of attractive feed-in tariff scheme. A further 100MW+ developed and acquired before coming together to form SIG


• Developed over 1000 MW of wind projects in EU (operating 700), including 138MW Geopower project in Sardinia which is still the largest single on-shore wind park in Europe


• Wood biomass plant in South of Italy of 17MW then expanded to 32MW, Sugar cane biomass plant in India of 15MW, 200MW further biomass developments across Italy. Technical supervision of the realization of 8 Biomass / Biogas plants. 20 MW vegetable oil biomass in Gabon ($100M investment).


• Development & construction of 7 major WTE plants for a total of 200MW

Luca Concone (Managing Director)
Luca was co-founder of Enexon in 2006, one of the first companies in Italy in the solar industry, later sold to Babcock & Brown investment fund. Prior to this he has been a senior manager for A.T. Kearney and McKinsey & Co., working as a consultant for 12 years. Later he became General Manager of UK retail bank Capital One and founded an international internet/mobile based company listed on the Italian Market (Buongiorno-Vitaminic). His last experience before becoming an entrepreneur has been as CFO of the City of Milan for Mayor Letizia Moratti. He is an authorized person by Banca d’Italia and Bank of England.

AKM Ismail (Director)
Ismail is a Senior Real Estate Banker. He started his career with DBS Bank, Singapore where he worked for nine years and then moved on to Citibank. He worked there for the next eight years and has been involved in the structuring of debt, mezzanine and equity deals. Signature deals include Canary Wharf development in London, Suzhou Industrial park in China, IT Park in Bangalore, India, Raffles Hotel in Singapore and many more in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam etc. In 2001, Ismail joined the Asia Pacific Investment Group to establish the London office of the Indonesian Group to focus on property investments and re structuring. In this role, he sat on the Board of a small Indonesia Bank and was involved in the merger of the Bank with another bank owned by the Group. The role involved him setting the Credit Policies of the Bank and mentoring and conducting regular workshops with the bank managers of the 56 odd retail branches. He is regarded for his expertise in Real estate Finance, Project Finance, Debt Restructuring especially cross-border investments.

Luciano Di Filippo (Director - Chief Technology Officer)
Luciano’s extensive managerial experience began after graduation with Ernst & Young in Italy and US; he progressed successfully through several challenging professional roles including business development, leadership skills and project management. In 1998 became General Director of Jetech a JV between Olivetti-Telecom and Philips Co. with technical and production sites in Hungary, Austria and Italy. He has several years experience in the telecommunication industry participating in the establishment of Fastweb Group in Italy and VTEL Group in Jordan, Georgia, Iraq and Burundi. Luciano experiences include direct and indirect investments and managing start up of technology-driven companies. He pioneered the establishment of ground mounting photovoltaic plants in Italy. He holds an MBA from Bocconi University (1986) and a PhD in Engineering from Polytechnic of Milan (1984).

Franco Abbate (Director - Management and Control)
Franco was involved in many M&A and corporate finance transactions in the sectors of renewable energy, consumer goods and fashion. Prior to SIG, Franco has developed a strategic business oriented mindset and a deep analytical approach across different professional experiences working at Ambrosetti Stern Stewart Italia, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Medinvest and Centrobanca.Franco got a Degree in Economics and Finance at Cattolica University of Milan, and he is Dottore Commercialista and Chartered Accountant, as well as Member of the “CT” Register held by Justice Court of Milan.As of today he is member of the Supervisory Boards of many Italian companies.
